Brag Book Tutorial

Supplies that you will need:

1- 4 3/4" x 9 1/4" piece of card stock for back and spine of book
1- 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" piece of card stock for front of book
Card stock and patterned paper for finishing touches
Paper cutter with scoring tool or bone folder
1/16" handheld circle punch
Clear Envelopes
Brads for spin
Other accessories of choice for the front of the book
Sticky Strip

I got this idea from Roxy who did a great Tutorial for this cute little book for Splitcoast it can be seen here. Check out her blog is great too!

Step 1
Score your 4 3/4" x 9 1/4" piece of card stock at 1" and 2" length wise

Step 2
Fold your card stock over at the 2" score mark. This will form the spine of your book.

Step 3
Apply Sticky Strip to the end of the front panel. Attach front panel to spin like so....

Step 4
Adhere the 6 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of card stock (your front cover) to the exposed Sticky Strip.

Step 5
Peel the plastic lining of your clear envelope seal, line the envelope up with the back of your book and tape down. Layer all envelopes on top of each other. Use as many envelopes as you would like pictures in your book . The envelopes will be your page protectors for your photos.

Step 6
Use your hole punch to make holes for your brads. You can use your thumb as a ruler on both ends Learned this trick from Roxy or just measure or eyeball about and 1' or so in from the end. The punch will go through both all the card stock and envelopes with no problem

Step 7
Attach your brads.

Step 8
Decorate the front of the book. I used the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set as well as Flower Fusion atttached with a brad to the center of the image , and cutie Pie DSP. I also stamped on double stitch ribbon with Staz-on and added a build a brad. Basic instructions are shown here:

Build a Brad- Stamp small image punch it out with the 1/2' circle punch adhere to brad with glue dot or other adhesive and then apply bubble on top.

Viola finished product! Isn't it so cute! A great idea for a shower gift! You could pre make grandma brag books for the mommy to be! Well I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and will give it a try!

Wanted! Bedazzled Brads

This is a card I made using WANTED. You can add bling to your brads my heating them and dipping them in irr. Ice embossing powder and then heat setting them! It dosn't work with all brads I have found that the pewter ones turnout the best!! I made the scallop around the horses by cutting out a circular mask with acetate and the coluzzle. Then I used the small star stamp from this set and stamped the image all the way around the edge of the mask. After you remove the mask!! Ta da a scalloped frame!!! How fun! I will be posting a tutorial tommarrow so be sure to come back and check it out! Please see my revised class list for march Classes I had to changed a few dates. good Night all! Be sure to check out the eclipse!!

YeeHaw Acetate! and my Valentines Day!

I thought that I would challange myself to making a none christmas acetate card. After finding some inspiration on spilcoast I came up with this. WHat do you think? I made another one that I will be posting tommarrow. I used outlaw DSP, Bronc Buster Stampset , Creamy Caramel Cs, Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon and a Jumbo Eyelet!.
Also a reminder that I am still looking people for and evelope share and I have a few yards of the 1/4 grosgrain available for purchase!
Well I am off to my Space for some much needed relaxing & creating.... after some much needed catching up on housework. But first I wanted to share alittle about my Happy Heart Day.. I hope everyone had a great valentines with the one you love! We started the day with a bit of drama and terror!
Matt (My Hubby) works as a prototype tech testing brake pads and he was sprayed in the eye with brake fluid. He went blind for awile and was taken to the hospital. After and hour of flushing his eyeout with an alien eye sucker thingy they tested his eye and his vison was normal again and all the acid had been removed thank heaven!!!!
As Yesterday was valentines day and I work at a flowershop I am Pooped!! I got some beautiful Flowers from my hubby he always goes the extra mile to surprise me with the delivery of them anytime he gets me a bouquet ( its super hard to surprise the one who works where you order your flowers!) SO I appreciate him so much for trying! He had my boss get her some to pretend to buy flowers for his Girlfriend and he left with them and then brought them back for me awhile later! SOo thoughtful and sweet! And then we came home he made me my favorite dinner (pesto Chicken!) THen we passed out on the couch at 9 pm.. hehe.. He is so sweet to me as he knows how long and tiring valentines week is!!! Just ask me how long it takes to clean and prepare 700 roses!! :) THanks for stoping by and listening and have a great day!
